Adjusting Total Alkalinity
 
Low Total Alkalinity will cause "pH Bounce" allowing the pH to easily rise & fall with slight additions of chemicals or environmental debris.  It will eventually lead to very low pH & acidic corrosion of pool equipment & surfaces, including plastics & stainless steel.  At very low levels, the water is VERY clear.

High Total Alkalinity will lead to the pH being high with difficulty to bring it back into a normal range & cloudy or hazy water.  Left alone, high TA (over 175 ppm) will cause scaling of pool surfaces & equipment.  Use PoolBoss pH Down to effectively & safely lower High TA.
