Maintaining a Spa or Hot tub using Chlorine or Bromine

 

Chlorinated Spa Maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

Daily:

  • Test the Chlorine residual.  Add as necessary to maintain 1.0 to 3.0 ppm

Weekly:

  • Test pH.  Ideal is 7.4 to 7.6.  Acceptable is 7.2 to 7.6.

  • Add SpaBoss® Descummer and Prevent II following the label instructions.

  • Shock your spa or hot tub with SpaBoss® Spa Shock or Chlor-Aid.

Monthly:

  • Test & adjust Total Alkalinity & Calcium Hardness as per label instructions. Why is this important?  Here's the answer.

Every 3 to 4 Months:

  • Drain, clean, polish and refill spa or hot tub based on usage.

 

Brominated Spa Maintenance (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly)

Daily:

  • Test the Bromine residual.  Add as necessary to maintain 3.0 to 6.0 ppm

Weekly:

  • Test pH.  Ideal is 7.4 to 7.6.  Acceptable is 7.2 to 7.6.

  • Add SpaBoss® Descummer and Prevent II following the label instructions.

  • Shock your spa or hot tub with SpaBoss® Spa Shock or Energize.

  • If using Brominating Tablets, check & refill floater as per label instructions.

Monthly:

  • Test & adjust total alkalinity as per label instructions.

Every 3 to 4 Months:

  • Use Whirlpool Rinse - Cleans the internal plumbing lines or spas, hot tubs

  • Drain, clean, polish and refill spa or hot tub based on usage.
